After being on the Internet business for a while, you learn
that the way to be financially free is to have a residual
income to sustain the lifestyle you wish for.
Like most people, you probably will probably start by
signing up for affiliate programs and promoting a business
opportunities. You figure that this is the way to move
forward so that one day, you can quit your day job.
With great enthusiasm, you worked hard and spent hours on
the affiliate programs. You spent a heap of money on books
and tools. Along the way, you may also create and sell your
own products.
One thing you have to do constantly is to approach people.
Having a faithful group of downliners is important. So is
executing the correct steps in closing sales, due diligent
in follow-up to cross-sell and up-sell, and building a
trusted relationship with your customers. Along the way to
financial freedom, you figured that if you help enough
people, if you give and share, the good will come back to
you, multiplied by several times even.
Wait! Hold on a minute! You did exactly that; you followed
the formula to the strictest you can manage. You pour your
heart and soul to grow your business. You talk to people,
you do everything you can to help your downline. You do
everything you can manage to retain your clients. But you
are still where you are months ago, your life have not
grown easier. In fact, it may have become worst as you have
to work even more hours, and your life is more complex than
ever before.
Let's rewind a little. First of all, are you wasting your
breath talking to those who are not going to help you
achieve your dreams and goals right now? Maybe the people
you are trying to help are not committed enough to want to
break through the situation they are in currently.
New network marketers sometimes make the mistakes of
spending a large portion of their time approaching the
wrong people. With all those hours you have put in, you
will quit if you see no results shortly. In one month's
time, maybe two, or three, depending on how soon you will
break due to exhaustion. All it takes is three or four
devastating rejections and you may be out of the business
for good!
The fact is this: you have physical limits. You can only be
in one place at any given time. However, you can still make
hundreds of sales pitches a week. With Internet marketing,
we can work just 10 hours and get paid for 100 hours of
work. We leverage off cutting-edge technology available
today and we can reach beyond the limitations.
Once you get a prospect, you have to talk to the person to
qualify him or she. During the initial contact, you need to
spend sometime to determine if the prospect needs your
products or service. Be the best listener you can be while
the prospect talks. Establish if the person you are talking
to can afford your service and if he or she is the person
to make the decision to purchase your product or service.
In building your followers, qualify the person you are
trying to help. Does the person express clearly and
strongly that he or she needs help from you? Does he or she
has the faith, patience, and persistence to do what is
necessary to break out of the vicious cycle he or she is
in? During the coaching process, does the person show
commitment or is the person just kicking tire?
Read the body language, listen to his or her verbal spoken
communication. Watch out for phase like "I don't know, Bob.
This didn't seems like it will work." Does the person pours
cold water over suggestions you give to improve his current
situation? Did he dismiss the steps you have given to him
to execute as silly and useless tasks?
You have to very quickly identify the tire-kickers and
dream stealers. Stop wasting time on them. Go after those
who really want to break free or can help you in very
concrete terms (such as giving you sales).
Birds of the same feather flock together. Go flock with the
right kind of people - the enthusiastic ones and the
successful ones.
